We most likely just experienced our last ‘E3’ direct exclusively focused on Switch. I’d be willing to wager that the September and Jan/Feb direct are still directed exclusively at Switch (you don’t want to cannibalize switch sales this autumn with a new switch announcement when you still have a heavy hitter like 2d Mario coming out ), then it’s open season after that. Given that, it’s conceivable that we’ll see the reveal of the Switch 2 next May/June, though Nintendo’s year end is March 31st, so there’s that to consider as well. The Switch also had roughly 6 months marketing from initial announcement (Oct 2016) to release (March 2017). Switch had to come out earlier given the Wii U’s failure. If the Switch 2 comes out in 2024, it’ll most likely release in the autumn as most of their consoles, bar the Switch, have come out in the autumn. It almost makes you think that they could push the Switch 2 into 2025, unless some of the games (DK/MP4 are cross gen).
